Discord Rich Presence for 3D printers
Your print, layer by layer, on your Discord profile.
Plycast watches your printer on your local network and turns each print into a live Discord card: model, progress, status and a countdown to done. When the print finishes, the card clears itself.

What your friends see
A card that reads like a status update, not a log file.
Printer and photo
Your printer model with its own picture, like Bambu Lab A1 or X1 Carbon.
Progress and status
Percentage plus a badge for printing, preparing or paused.
Time left
Discord's own countdown, so it ticks on everyone's screen without extra updates.
Your choice of detail
File name, layer and temperatures are optional. Up to two link buttons.
Runs in the tray
Close the window and Plycast keeps working. It can start with Windows.
Signed updates
New versions arrive in the app; only builds signed with the project key install.
Card templates
Write the card the way you want it.
Each line is a template. Mix text with placeholders and the app fills them in while you print. Any part between · separators disappears when its value is missing, so the card never shows an empty gap.

How it works
Three steps, no developer portal.
- 1
Install
Run the installer. It does not need admin rights. Windows may warn about an unknown publisher; choose More info → Run anyway.
- 2
Add your printer
The setup wizard asks for the printer's IP address, serial number and LAN access code. The table below shows where to find each one.
- 3
Print
Start a print as usual. The card appears on your profile within seconds and goes away when the printer is idle again.
| Field | On the printer screen |
|---|---|
| IP address | Settings → WLAN / Network |
| Serial number | Settings → Device info (not the AMS serial) |
| LAN access code | Settings → WLAN / Network → LAN access code (not your Bambu password) |
Privacy
Your printer stays on your network.
Plycast talks to the printer directly over your LAN and hands the card to the Discord app on the same computer. Nothing passes through a server of ours, because there isn't one.
No Plycast server, no Bambu account login
- Plycast only reads from the printer. It never sends start, pause or stop commands.
- The connection is TLS, verified against Bambu's own certificate.
- The LAN access code is kept in Windows Credential Manager, never in a settings file.
- Discord receives only what the card shows: model, status, percentage, time left and, if you turn it on, the file name.
- The only internet request Plycast makes is the update check against GitHub Releases.

FAQ
Questions people ask
Everyone uses the same Discord app. Will our cards mix up?
No. Each card is set by the Discord app on your own computer. The shared application ID only decides the name and icon on the card, the same way thousands of people can play the same game.
My card doesn't show up.
The Discord desktop app has to be running on the same computer, and activity sharing has to be on under User Settings → Activity Privacy. The preview inside Plycast shows exactly what the card will look like.
Why does the card say “3D Printing”?
That's the name of the Discord application the card is published under. You can enter your own Application ID under Settings → Advanced if you want a different name.
Do I need a Discord bot or token?
No. Plycast uses Rich Presence through the Discord app you already have open. There is nothing to register.
macOS or Linux?
Not yet. Plycast is Windows-only for now.
